Business Development Professional - International Projects

As an International Business Development Professional, having taught at the Graduate Level at Florida International University (FIU) and becoming uniquely affiliated with Universities and Academic leaders, extraordinary opportunities presented themselves to work with major international groups ranging from private entities, not-for-profit international humanitarian groups and in several substantial cases, directly with top government agencies and cabinet level diplomatic groups. Present projects include the Development of a Major - Phytosanitation - Heat Treatment facility if Maine for the purpose of providing long-term supply of wood chips to Combined Heat & Power producers throughout the EU and the facilitation of workforce development and rural economic development initiatives in the fields of Biomass, Biodiesel, Agricultural and Bio-feed Stocks.

Maine Woods - Biomass Exports (“MWBE”) recognized internationally as the emerging “Fiber Hub of Maine is engaged in development of a wood chip biomass processing center for exporting Softwood and Hardwood, renewable feedstock from certified sustainable forests derived of a 17.7 million acre wood basket, which is the largest contiguous feedstock basket in the US. MWBE’s primary production shall fulfill long-term (5 to 15 years) fiber supply contracts of its proprietary Heat Treated – Phytosanitized high-energy E=MC3 wood chips, to top tier combined heat and power (“CHP”) production facilities in the UK and European markets. E=MC3 wood chips will be shipped either Bulk or Baled – FOB Searsport. Supplementary production includes a non-heat treated modified density fiber MDF” for the largest manufacturing facility in Turkey, Heat Treated Spruce-Fir logs for EU clientele and an exclusive 20 year supply contract for raw fiber to be delivered to local pellet manufacturing facility. Significant to the operation is the sale of bark from processing of raw logs.

MWBE’s Phytosanitation System is the only USDA-APHIS approved Heat Treatment system built exclusively to conform to EU standards for importation of wood fiber from North America. MWBE is the only facility with an approved USDA - Phytosanitation Certificate, a completed export transaction of wood chips to the EU and fully documented approvals through export/import agencies and customs. The system is proprietary and MWBE is the only authorized facility on the east coast of the US. The single line production facility shall produce between 300,000 and 320,000 Metric Tons of fiber annually for export. The commodity shall be exported in bulk and only under FOB terms. This priority production capacity is under current LOI for 15 years. A second production line can be installed in sequence to accommodate additional order now pending to several of the largest buyers in the EU.

Current opportunities for export to Europe include facilitation for the provision of Wood Pellets to the EU as well. In Haiti, we are working on a 100,000 Hectare project, in coordination with Agrarian Farming professionals from Penn. State, to provide thousands of jobs to Haiti citizens and produce biodiesel for export to the EU while reclaiming the countryside and preventing erosion and landslides, and reforesting or afforesting the country (all projects in Haiti are reliant upon and contingent on working funding allotments through the Clinton Foundation). Additional biomass products we have aligned for export includes citrus tree materials from the greater part of Florida citrus plantations, with in excess of 140,000 idle Citrus Plantations to select from.

In collaboration with a long-standing Haiti NGO, MWBE & CMI have provided extensive Pro Bono Humanitarian consultation to Haiti firms, Haitian Cabinet Officials and major institutions in the US interested in providing assistance to Haiti and its citizens, in the Aftermath of the Natural Disaster Earthquake of 2010. Drill-down programs included Demolition and Debris Removal with major recycling program to support construction of Habitat for Humanity homes, implementation of Solar Lighting Programs, formation of Agrarian Farming and Biofuel production from byproducts, drilling of artesian wells and the construction of schools and medical facilities, and the proposed arrival of a floating hotel – dormitory ship for educational training purposes for agencies such as UN peace Keepers, USAID Officials and Doctors Without Borders.

CMI was founded in 2001 as a Not for Profit entity focused on bro bono consulting in support of humanitarians needs and in instances where workforce training or development could be implemented in the construction industry. After the earthquake, CMI focused on humanitarian assistance to Haiti and its citizens.

Augmented career with parallel educational accomplishments and industry wide recognition for establishing workforce development programs, higher education & technical programs, lecturing and teaching at graduate level construction management and engineering university, speaking at forums nation-wide and engaging in civic and charitable undertakings serving society both domestic and abroad.
