Scheduling a Mediation

Arthur House handles mediation scheduling directly.

To inquire about scheduling a mediation, please contact Arthur House directly to discuss your
preferred date or range of dates.

When submitting a scheduling request, please provide as much of the following information as
possible:

  • Names of all parties
  •  Names and contact information for counsel or representatives
  • A brief description of the dispute or matter
  • Preferred mediation date or range of dates
  • Preference for in-person or virtual (Zoom) mediation
  • For in-person mediation, the preferred location, if applicable
  • Any scheduling considerations or special requirements

Providing this information with your initial inquiry helps us evaluate availability and move the
scheduling process forward efficiently.

You are welcome to contact Arthur House directly regarding scheduling. Please understand
that he may be engaged in a mediation, meeting, hearing, or other professional matter and
may not always be able to respond immediately. Your inquiry will be addressed as soon as
reasonably possible.

Scheduling and Availability

Mediation dates are subject to availability and are not considered confirmed until Arthur House has reviewed the matter and confirmed the date with the parties or their representatives.

An inquiry regarding a particular date does not, by itself, place that date on hold or guarantee its availability. Dates may become unavailable while scheduling discussions are taking place.

Because mediation often requires coordinating the schedules of multiple attorneys, parties, insurers, business representatives, and other participants, we encourage you to provide several potential dates whenever possible.

For the same reason, we recommend contacting Arthur House as early as possible when a mediation date is required.

In-Person Mediation

Local in-person mediation sessions may be conducted at the Arthur House offices in Belfast, Maine, or at another mutually convenient location within 100 miles of the offices, subject to availability and prior arrangement.

When requesting an in-person mediation, please identify your preferred location and any special requirements that may need to be considered.

Virtual Mediation by Zoom

Arthur House also offers mediation by Zoom.

Virtual mediation can provide additional scheduling flexibility and may eliminate the need for the parties and counsel to travel.

When requesting a Zoom mediation, please indicate that virtual mediation is preferred and provide several potential dates whenever possible.

Holding a Mediation Date

Once the initial information regarding the matter has been received and the parties have reviewed and accepted the applicable fee arrangement, Arthur House may, when practical, agree to temporarily hold a proposed mediation date while the parties coordinate their schedules.

Any temporary hold is subject to confirmation and should not be considered a final booking unless expressly confirmed by Arthur House.

The length of any temporary hold will depend upon the circumstances, the availability of the requested date, and the scheduling needs of the parties.

Confirmation of Mediation

A mediation date is considered confirmed only after Arthur House has communicated confirmation of the date and applicable arrangements.

Confirmation may include:

  • Mediation date and time
  • In-person or Zoom format
  • Location, when applicable
  • Names of participating parties and counsel
  • Applicable mediation fee and payment arrangement
  • Any additional scheduling or logistical requirements

We understand how challenging it can be to coordinate a mediation date that works for all parties and counsel. Our goal is to make the scheduling process as straightforward and efficient as possible.

To inquire about scheduling a mediation, please contact Arthur House with your preferred dates and the basic information regarding your matter.
